Patricia Paul is next Chairwoman of 'World Peace' Panel.  Patricia Paul, Inuit, has been elected as the next chairwoman of the Washington State Bar Association's World Peace Through Law Section; the section focuses on international affairs.  Paul will become chairwoman January 1, 2012.  She is also active on other state bar committees.  Paul lives on the Swinomish Reservation with her family; her husband Kevin Paul, is a member of the Swinomish Senate and is a well-known Coast Salish artist.  As a lawyer, Paul specializes in corporate  law, non-profit law, land use and Indian Law.  Her interests include international indigenous law, and she is a charter membr of Mediators Beyond Borders.  She received her undergraduate degree from Antioch Univrsity, her law degree from Seattle University and a certificate in governance from Harvard University.  By Richard Walker, Indian Country Today.  February 25, 2011.

Patricia Paul honored.  La Conner attorney Patricia Paul was named to the 2010 class of fellows to the Washington State Bar Association Leadership Institute.  Attorneys admitted to practice beetween three and 10 years are eligible to apply for the program.  Lawyers are selected for the program on the basis of diversity and their capacity for leadership.  State-wide, 12 attorneys were chosen for the fellowship.  Fellows attend eight training sessions designed to advance their career and complete a public service program.  La Conner Weekly News, page 7, January 20, 2010.

Patricia Paul Elected Chair of State Committee​.  Patricia Paul has been appointed to serve as the 2010-2011 Chair of the Washington State Editorial Advisory Committee.  Her appointment was approved by the WSBA Board of Governors at its September 23 - 24 meeting.  This is Patricia's fourth appointment to serve on this committee; the first two years as a member, the third as co-chair and now as chair.  Volunteering in the legal profession is one of Patricia's dedicated passions!  The WSBA website will soon be updated with this appointment.  Patricia wishes to thank WSBA President-elect Steven G. Inupiaq attorney appointed to state committee​.  SWINOMISH, Wash. - Patricia Paul, Inupiaq, has been appointed to the Washington State Bar Association's Amicus Curiae Brief Committee, Civil Rights Committee and Editorial Advisory Board.  Paul was appointed by the bar's board of governors at its October meeting.  Paul is a private practice attorney in La Conner, across the channel from the Swinomish reservation, where she lives with her family.  Her husband, Kevin Paul, is a noted Swinomish artist and member of the Swinomish Senate.  Paul earned her law degree at Seattle University School of Law and her undergraduate degree at Antioch University - Seattle.  She earned a certificate in "Innovations in Governance" at the John F. Kennedy School of Government - Harvard University.  Paul is a certified meditor, a consultant in tribal judicial systems and sustainable development, and judge pro tempore in the Northwest Intertribal Court System.  She served two terms as a vice president of Washington Women Lawyers.  She also served as a program fellow with the World Affairs Council in Seattle and is a member of the National American Indian Court Judges Association. Written by Richard Walker, News from the Northwest, Indian Country Today, November 19, 2007.

Patricia Paul to Speak in Finland!​  ADR NEWS, Seattle University School of Law's Prolific Reporter, November 3, 1997.  "The ADR Board would like to thank Patricia Paul for being a guest speaker several weeks ago.  Her topic was 'Northwest Tribes' Traditional Negotiation Techniques'. Ms. Paul put her lecture on the internet and, as a result, she was invited to speak in Finland at a symposium.  She will compare the Anglo system of alternative dispute resolution and legal litigation to that of the Northwest Tribes.  Be sure to congratulate Patricia Paul on this immense honor!"

Healthy Traditions Competition Award, American Indian Health Care Association, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1990 for writing a booklet, BEDA, Traditions of Early Infant Care of the Swinomish Tribal Community.  Co-recipient was Patricia's husband, Kevin Paul, for his illustrations/artwork.  Published by the La Conner School District and the Swinomish IndianTribal Community, both of La Conner, Washington.  First printing in 1989.  Second printing available through the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community.  The booklet was curriculum development material at the Seattle Art Museum in 1988 - 1989.
